Inclusive Multi Sports Festival

On Wednesday 6th December the Inclusive Multi Sports Festival for children in years 3-6 was held at Ellesmere Port Sports Village. Around 120 children from 13 schools took part in this inaugural event. The children rotated around four activities: boccia, sitting volleyball, wheelchair basketball and tri-golf. The excitement around the hall was electric, with broad smiles from all the children. One child had so much fun that he even said ‘this is the best day of my life’.

We were delighted that Paralympian Anna Jackson from Cheshire Phoenix Wheelchair Basketball Club ran the wheelchair basketball session. Last week she won the national award for Disability Coach of the Year at the 2017 UK Coaching Awards, a fantastic achievement.
